The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) recently announced that they will be ending the COVID-19 Uninsured Program due to lack of funding. Since mid-2020, the program has provided claims reimbursement (generally at Medicare rates) to health care providers for testing and/or treatment of uninsured individuals with a COVID-19 diagnosis and administering COVID-19 vaccines to uninsured individuals.
On March 22nd at 11:59 pm EST, the program will stop accepting claims related to testing or treatment of COVID-19.
On April 5th at 11:59 pm EST, the program will stop accepting claims related to COVID-19 vaccine administration.
HRSA has noted that claims submitted before or by these deadlines will be paid based on the availability of funds.
