The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has directed their Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACS) to temporarily hold all claims with dates of service on or after April 1st, 2021 in anticipation of possible Congressional action to extend the suspension of the -2% Medicare sequester cut.
Last week, the Senate passed their version of a bill extending the moratorium of the -2% cut to December 31st, 2021, beyond the March 31, 2021 deadline. The House is expected to vote on the bill the week of April 12th, following their return from recess.
