The first deadline to report on use of Provider Relief Funds (PRF) is approaching at the end of this month. Those who received $10,000 or more in PRF monies between April 10th and June 30th of 2020 have until September 30th, 2021 to complete this requirement or face potential recoupment. Providers who received funds automatically via the first PRF distribution in April of 2020 must complete reporting as part of the terms and conditions of retaining the payment.
Despite industry calls for an extension, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has not modified the deadlines to use or report on funds which was released in June. The current deadlines are:

Following registration, recipients must submit data on how they used PRF monies. The funds could be used to cover expenses incurred due to COVID-19, to replace revenue lost due to COVID-19, or a combination of the two.
Once the report has been filed, any unused funds must be returned to the government within 30 calendar days of the applicable Reporting Time Period deadline.
